As of June 2025, we are closing our in-home newborn studio location and exclusively capturing Lifestyle Newborn Sessions. This style of Newborn Sessions will be explained below.
We appreciate all of the newborns who have come to our home over the last 13 years, but it has become increasingly difficult for my body to complete in-studio sessions and also difficult to share our home with our studio. I look forward to capturing you in the comfort of your home, in a more natural state, soon!
It’s no secret baby’s don’t keep. Babies are only considered “newborns” for about the first 4 weeks of life. When they arrive earth-side, newborns have so many unique features that set them apart from older babies. There are clear size differences and detail differences that we don’t want to miss out on capturing! In addition, perhaps just as importantly, babies sleep better for posing within the first 14 days of life. Most poses can only be accomplished if baby is full, warm, and asleep. Something that makes all of the difference in getting the shots you see below. That’s why newborn photographers are so important in the Photography world! We are baby whisperers who know all of the tricks to sooth baby to sleep.
All Newborn Sessions are captured within the first 10 - 21 days of baby’s life, in the comfort of your home. The age range of 10 - 21 days is an industry standard, as baby will still have the fresh details I liked to capture and ensures a more sleepy time period to allow for more posing options. Please reach out as early as 22 weeks gestation to schedule your session and get your estimated due date on my calendar. I am only able to capture a few newborns each month and this helps me to remain flexible for baby’s arrival, which is when we will narrow down the actual session date. All props, fabrics, and clothing are laundered and sanitized between clients.
Our newborn sessions are now exclusively In-Home Lifestyle Sessions. This is a more relaxed session, in the comfort of your home. For family portaits and sibling portraits, we will utilize your living room and/or bedroom. The nursery will also be used for parent/baby poses and individual poses of baby in their crib. Also included are individual portraits of baby, that are more studio-style. I offer a few shots of baby professional wrapped up and styled in one of my buckets, baskets, or flokati rug set-ups. I do bring faux wood flooring with me, as well. We will discuss a color scheme ahead of your session and I will bring everything we need!
I respectfully request you do not pick out acutal clothing for your baby’s individual portraits, as most of the session baby will be professionally styled and swaddled by myself, in a fabric wrap. Clothing such as overalls, shirts, pants, or dresses tend to swamp your baby’s true-life size and adds unflattering folds of fabric to your images. I am open to a pre-approved outfit that fits baby snug and we can discuss this ahead of your session! I will also help you and your family choose outfits, based on general do’s and don’ts. You do not need to buy everyone brand new clothing, as you can typically find what you need from your closet!
Newborn Session - $199 Session Fee
Your session will last roughly 1 - 2 hours, depending on how many breaks baby requires for feeds. Every newborn is different!
